A woman is in critical condition after she was struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run incident in Mississauga overnight.
Peel Regional Police were called to the Bristol Road West and Loonlake Avenue area just after midnight.
Officers arrived at the scene and located a female pedestrian who had been hit by a car. She was transported to a trauma centre as a result of her injuries.
Peel Paramedics tells 680 News Radio that the woman is in critical condition, adding that a passerby phoned police after the vehicle involved fled the scene. It’s believed the woman was standing at a bus stop when she was struck.
Bristol Road West is closed at Fallingbrook Drive and Terry Fox Way for the investigation, and nearby roads are blocked.
