A youth has been arrested for allegedly stabbing a dog and lighting a Mississauga home on fire.
Peel police say they were called to the home at Atwater Avenue and Canterbury Road just after 11 a.m. for a residential fire.
A dog from the residence was found with stab wounds and was taken to an animal hospital for treatment.
A youth associated with the residence was arrested and the fire is being treated as arson. Police allege the person arrested for the fire is also responsible for the dog’s injuries.
No people were injured in the fire. Road closures are expected in the area.
