The City of Brampton has reached a tentative agreement with the union representing thousands of municipal workers, ending a strike that has disrupted services.
Mayor Patrick Brown made the announcement on social media Tuesday night.
“I’m pleased that an agreement has been signed with (CUPE Local 831), pending ratification, including a return to work protocol,” Brown said.
“We’ve offered a fair, multi-year agreement, just like Mississauga’s, that truly recognizes the hard work and dedication of our city employees.”
About 1,200 workers have been on strike since Thursday. According to the union, wages has been the main sticking point in contract negotiations.
