A portion of Danforth Avenue is closed in Toronto’s Greektown area after a driver crashed into a tree or a sign and was ejected from their vehicle, say police.
The collision, which resulted in the vehicle catching fire, happened near Danforth and Eaton avenues, just east of Pape.
Police say they were called to that area at 3:50 p.m.
The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, they said in a follow-up post on X.
Currently, Danforth is closed in both direction from pape to Jones avenues.
Police say drivers should expect delays in the area and are being advised by police to use alternate routes.
Danforth Avenue is also currently closed in both directions from Byron to Greenwood avenues due to wires down.
