The Special Investigations Unit (SIU) is actively investigating an officer-related shooting in Orillia.
The incident happened just before 2 p.m. on Thursday.
The SIU says that one person is dead and the officer involved is seriously injured.
Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) released a tweet asking pedestrians and motorists to avoid the area around West Street South at Cochrane Street and Matchedash Street South at Cochrane Street.
Police say the officer is in the hospital and in stable condition.
