Southbound lanes of Hwy. 400 closed at Finch due to crash that left driver with critical injuries

The southbound lanes of Highway 400 are closed at Finch Avenue due to a three-vehicle collision that left a driver with critical injuries.

Ontario Provincial Police say the collision occurred just before noon on Wednesday.

“The traffic was slowing. A tractor-trailer and a pickup truck (were) slowing due to congestion. A delivery truck collided into the back of the tractor-trailer, which pushed it into the pickup truck,” OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt said.

The driver of the delivery truck, a 47-year-old man from Woodstock, has been taken to the hospital in life-threatening condition.

Schmidt says the highway is expected to fully reopen by 6 p.m.
