With thousands of kids heading back to school across the GTA this week, Toronto police are kicking off a Back To School traffic campaign aimed at ensuring safety.
“Thousands of Toronto students are back to school after the summer break. This also means regular traffic volumes return to our roadways, as well as an increase in pedestrian traffic as kids walk and ride their bicycles to and from school,” police said in a release.
Police say they will be conducting their back-to-school traffic campaign from Sept. 3 – 13.
Mayor Olivia Chow, representatives from the Toronto District School Board and Toronto police will be on hand at Tredway Woodsworth School in Scarborough for the safety campaign and to kick off the school year Tuesday morning.
