Toronto police to provide details on carjacking investigation

Toronto police are set up to announce the results of a carjacking investigation later today.

In a news release Tuesday, police said they have made several arrests in connection with the investigation, but announced few other details.

Supt. Andy Singh of 31 Division and Insp. Joseph Matys of the Hold Up Squad Will be providing more information at a news conference at Toronto Police Headquarters.

The news conference is expected to get underway at 1 p.m. It will be live-streamed on CTVNewsToronto.ca and the CTV News app.

Auto theft has been a growing problem across the Greater Toronto Area for the past few years, with police reporting an increase in violent incidents.
