3rd man faces murder charge in connection to death of Kitchener man whose body found in Oshawa

A third man has been charged in connection with the five-year-old killing of Kitchener native Jason John Brown, Wellington County OPP said.

On March 12, 2019, officers were called to a home on Jessie Street in Harriston, Ont., after Brown had been reported missing.

The following day, Durham Regional Police contacted their counterparts in Wellington County to report that Brown’s body had been found on the side of Stevenson Road near Ragland Road by a city employee in Oshawa.

On Thursday night, police announced that they had laid a number of charges against 30-year-old Travis Willard Wand, including first-degree murder.

He was also charged with assault with a weapon; kidnapping; theft over $5,000; possessing property obtained by crime under $5,000; and obstructing justice.

Two other men were arrested by police in November in connection with the case, Joshua Alexander Drumond, 32, of Edmonton, and Steven Jon Walsom-Gerigs, 33, of Brantford.

The pair were both charged with first-degree murder and kidnapping.
