If you’re looking to escape the city and get lost in nature this summer, you’ll want to book a ticket for this bus. The trip takes you from downtown Toronto to a stunning destination complete with scenic hikes, towering lookouts and a rare turquoise lake.
The journey takes 45 minutes to one hour, so you can easily go there and back again in a day.
Once you reach your destination, you can enjoy beautiful trails through ancient trees, travel through a majestic canyon and visit a stunning, bright-blue lake.
Here’s what to know about the bus trip and destination.
On select dates this summer, Parkbus is offering journeys from Toronto to Crawford Lake and Rattlesnake Point.
You can choose to spend the day in just one of the parks, or visit both by hiking the Bruce Trail.
At Rattlesnake Point, you can travel along the Vista Adventure Trail and enjoy incredible scenery from the top of the escarpment. Some highlights of the area include the Buffalo Crag and Nassagaweya look-out points where you can take in the panoramic views.
To get to Crawford Lake Conservation Area, you can follow the 5-kilometre Nassagaweya Canyon Trail where you’ll find all sorts of natural wonders including limestone cliff faces, caves and rare plants.
Crawford Lake boasts an elevated boardwalk, Iroquoian Village and rare meromictic lake. The lake is one of the few of its kind in Canada and is known for its vibrant hues. In these types of lakes, the water in the bottom half does not blend with the water in the top half, creating unique layers.
The bus departs from Toronto at 9:45 a.m. and returns at 5:45 p.m. Don’t forget to pack a lunch!
