Toronto is getting a glittering ‘winter wonderland’ with s’mores huts and a cozy speakeasy

Was that the sound of sleigh bells? The Christmas season is upon us and soon Toronto will transform with glittery streets and snowy sidewalks.

If you’re looking for some festive things to do around the city, you’ll want to add this dazzling event to your calendar.

Holiday Hills is returning to STACKT market for its fifth year from November 15 to December 29, 2024.

According to a press release, the festival “will transform 60,000 square feet of the iconic, award-winning STACKT market into a winter wonderland, offering 39 days of curated holiday experiences that promise to excite visitors of all ages.”

The free event will feature over 100 local vendors and international brands, holiday shopping opportunities, immersive experiences and drool-worthy dishes.

“We are thrilled to invite Canadians to experience everything Holiday Hills has to offer at STACKT market this year,” Jessica Lynch, Vice President of Strategy and Development at STACKT said in the release.

“With rising living costs, it was essential to create an affordable, one-of-a-kind festival experience for the community and visitors.”

This year, you can enjoy the new After Dark Series, which will take place each evening from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. The festival will light up the night with twinkling light installations, Christmasy photo-ops, and themed events.

You’ll also be able to enjoy some unique culinary experiences, including boozy drinks and late-night food offerings.

Some highlights of Holiday Hills include a sparkling tunnel of lights, brand pop-ups, live entertainment and appearances from Santa, and interactive holiday workshops.

You can also head to the winter patio to enjoy curling lanes and s’mores huts.

Another spot to visit is the cozy Speakeasy Whiskey Bar where you can sip boozy drinks and enjoy a festive atmosphere.

Put on your mittens and get ready for some Christmas fun at this festival.
