‘ADDICTIVE, DANGEROUS’: York Region’s top doctor tells the ugly truth about student vaping

Vaping has been on the rise in York Region, especially among high school students. Ontario has announced a ban on vaping in schools, and a provincewide awareness campaign to tackle vaping in schools will be rolled out this fall.

This May, York Region launched a Vape Facts media campaign targeting youth to raise awareness of the many health risks and addictive effects associated with vaping. This campaign will be followed by a second campaign this summer to inform parents and residents that some retailers in York Region are selling vapes to minors, even though it’s against the law.
