‘An extreme crime, with an extremist motive’: Three men planned to massacre family at Mississauga Chicken Land restaurant, Crown says

Three men accused of orchestrating the attempted massacre of an entire family at a Mississauga restaurant “acted like a deadly team,” and should be found equally responsible for the targeted murder of one of the victims and the attempted murder of five other people, a jury heard Monday.

Crown attorney Brian McGuire said the planned and deliberate actions of the three murder accused has the hallmarks of “an extreme crime, with an extremist motive,” and that the attack on Naim Akl and his family tells you that “someone had a powerful reason to do so, and that person was so powerful that he could order the murder of an entire family.”

Mikail Aras told the court ‘that’s not what happened’ when defence for the accused said Aras altered the timeline of the May 29, 2021 shooting.
