Ontario’s highest court has ordered a new trial for a man convicted of fraud over the “ineffective” performance of his well-known Toronto defence lawyer, finding his representation “fell below the standard of reasonable professional judgment.”
On Wednesday, lawyer Ari Goldkind wrote in an email to the Star that while he is disappointed with the Ontario Court of Appeal’s conclusion, he respects the court and its decision, released earlier this week.
