Arrest made in fatal downtown St. Catharines shooting after police negotiate man’s surrender

Following Friday’s fatal downtown shooting in St. Catharines, several hours of negotiations at a city home resulted in the arrest of a suspect on charges of second-degree murder and attempted murder.

Niagara Regional Police said in a news release the arrest was made at about 4 p.m. Saturday after an hours-long parley took place at a home on Churchill Street in St. Catharines, in the Western Hill area of the city.
