Booze, flights and hotels. Here’s how four Catholic school trustees blew through $50,000 in one week

Catholic school trustees who initially billed taxpayers for an overseas art-buying trip to Italy spent nearly $16,000 on hotel stays — including unexplained overnight stays in Germany — $28,000 on flights and more than $500 on alcohol, according to expense documents obtained by The Spectator.

In July, the Brant Haldimand Norfolk Catholic District School Board sent four trustees to northern Italy for a week to buy statues, crosses and other religious art for new schools in Brantford and area.
