Downtown roads to close Sunday for annual Khalsa Day parade that’s expected to draw thousands

Thousands of people are expected to turn out Sunday for the annual Khalsa Day parade in Toronto, billed as Canada’s third largest parade.

Khalsa Day, or Vaisakhi, celebrates the Sikh New Year and the establishment of the Sikh community in 1699. The Toronto parade is organized by the Ontario Sikhs and Gurdwaras Council (OSGC).
