You could barely hear the lyrics to the Chappell Roan, Sabrina Carpenter and Billie Eilish songs over the sound of the crowd singing along, never missing a beat. Sweaty bodies clad in crop tops, mini dresses and cowboy hats danced in groups of three or four around the dimly-lit room, occasionally opening up to invite new people in but somehow never colliding with those next to them.
A few minutes earlier, the smaller groups within the crowd dissipated as everyone stood in awe while drag performer Gender Slay Quoi lip-synched to a medley of Chappell Roan and Charli xcx songs, eliciting more cheers with every split and high kick.
