A former Infrastructure Ontario executive has testified not only was he justified when he rejected a construction company’s bid to win a $300-million contract to renovate downtown Toronto’s St. Michael’s Hospital, the decision was the right call given how things ultimately unfolded.
“I couldn’t in good conscience agree to sign off” on Bondfield Construction Company’s bid, Derrick Toigo said in court Wednesday, noting that “as you can see from the project in its current state … the project did fail.”
