‘It’s just outrageous’: Provincially appointed board charges Peel $1.5 million to find ‘efficiencies’

Peel Region taxpayers have been charged $1.5 million by the provincially appointed board that was overseeing the dissolution of the region, even though Doug Ford cancelled the breakup months ago.

Regional politicians, who have only met with the four-person transition board once in the past year, called the ongoing work of the board “nontransparent,” and said Peel residents were being forced to pay for the “indecisiveness” of the province.
