Ministry of Labour orders force Hamilton to pause micro-shelter site work

Hamilton has halted on-site work at a planned micro-shelter project for homeless people on municipally owned land off Barton Street West in response to a four-part Ministry of Labour order.

“The city is working diligently to address the ministry orders so work can resume as quickly as possible with the target of having the site operational by the December 20 target date,” Grace Mater, general manager of healthy and safe communities, said via email late Friday.
