‘Morally repugnant’ Toronto cop who stole Swiss watch and credit cards deserves seven-year sentence, Crown says

Suspended Toronto police officer Boris Borissov — who was convicted of crimes relating to stealing property from the homes of distraught family members seeking police assistance — deserves a seven-year prison sentence, a prosecutor has told a judge.

“There is something morally repugnant about taking the property of a dead person,” prosecutor Sam Walker said Tuesday during fervent sentencing arguments at the Newmarket courthouse.
