Olivia Chow announces plan to open all Toronto’s libraries seven days a week by July 2026

All of Toronto’s public libraries will be open seven days a week by July 2026, in an expansion of hours that will provide more access to facilities and programs across the city.

Flanked by city councillors and library officials, it was announced on Sunday morning by Mayor Olivia Chow at Wychwood Library, which is currently closed on Sundays, but is one of the branches that will have additional hours starting in September 2025.
