Olivia Chow cleared of conflict of interest complaint by integrity commissioner

Toronto’s integrity commissioner has cleared Mayor Olivia Chow of any wrongdoing after a months-long investigation into an alleged conflict of interest involving a staffer’s ties to an anti-Uber advocacy group. 

In a report published Friday, Integrity Commissioner Jonathan Batty wrote that while there were sufficient grounds to investigate the complaint, he ultimately determined “that appropriate safeguards were observed” and “there was no issue that needed to be addressed by Mayor Chow.”
