Ottawa says it’s fed up waiting for Ford government to negotiate deal to end encampments

The federal housing minister says he’s fed up with waiting on the Ford government to agree on a deal to end homeless encampments, so he’s offering money directly to Toronto City Hall instead.

Housing Minister Sean Fraser sent letters to every province and territory last month, offering a total $250 million in federal funding to address encampments, if they were willing to match Ottawa’s contribution and find ways to get people into shelters as winter approaches.
