Parks and wrecks: Toronto is set to spend a record amount on fixing public greenspaces and potholed roads — and it still won’t be enough

Andre Fabierkiewicz was on the hook last month for thousands of dollars after his car’s axle blew out when he drove over a pothole on Lake Shore Boulevard.

The general contractor had to pay $2,500 to his mechanic to fix his vehicle — and more than $1,000 to the two workers he was driving who missed a day of work because of the mishap.
