The passenger in a U-Haul van that crashed after being pursued by police the wrong way on Highway 401, killing four, outside of Whitby in April has been released with time served.
Gill, 40, was initially charged with 13 offences, but through a plea deal, pleaded guilty to four charges, including two counts of theft under $5,000, one count of breach of release order and one count of failing to comply with a probation order. He was sentenced to 5.5 months, which was less than the time he had already served and two years of probation. The other charges were withdrawn.
