Snow squalls could drop up to 75 cm in some parts of Ontario — and they’re bringing ‘thundersnow’

Rare “thundersnow” was spotted as snow squalls began rolling through parts of Ontario Friday, with Environment Canada warning some areas could possibly see up to 75 centimetres of snow. 

Regions around Bracebridge, Parry Sound, Huntsville, Sault Ste. Marie, Port Elgin and Providence Bay, Ont., are expected to be hit the hardest by what the government agency is calling a “multi-day lake effect snow squall event.”
