‘STILL UNDER A GEOMAGNETIC STORM WARNING’: 8 things to know about why southern Ontario may experience the northern lights again Saturday night and into the week

Here are eight things to know about a geomagnetic storm that made the northern lights visible from southern Ontario overnight Friday into Saturday, and why it’s still impacting us Saturday and possibly for a few more days.

We posed these questions to Robyn Fiori, a senior researcher and duty forecaster within the Canadian Hazards Information Service, who confirmed in a late Saturday morning interview that “we’re still under a geomagnetic storm warning, that’s ongoing right now.”
