Tens of thousands of city employees, including workers in shelters, long-term care homes and public health, could go on strike in just over two weeks.
The city of Toronto confirmed in a news release it received a no-board report from the province Wednesday. The report signifies negotiations with its largest workers union, CUPE Local 79, have broken down and is the penultimate bureaucratic hurdle before the union can call a strike.
