Tentative deal with York University faculty union may avert strike just in time for classes to begin

A strike of over 1,700 York University faculty, librarians and archivists may have been prevented just in time for the school year as the union representing the workers reached a tentative deal with the university late Monday.

Just before midnight, the York University Faculty Association (YUFA)‘s bargaining team reached a negotiated agreement extending their collective agreement till April 30, 2027. According to the union, the wage settlement is 3.1 per cent in the first year and 2.85 per cent in the second and third years of the agreement.
