This senior Ontario judge is facing a rare misconduct hearing — but you’re not allowed to know why

A senior judge who was once in the running to become chief justice of the Ontario Court of Justice is now facing a discipline hearing for misconduct, but wants the allegations kept secret. 

The lawyer for Justice Paul Currie — who was facing criminal domestic assault charges last year that were later withdrawn — is seeking to have a publication ban imposed on the discipline proceedings, according to a notice posted by the Ontario Judicial Council, the body that investigates and disciplines provincially-appointed judges.
