This Toronto food entrepreneur’s ready-made picnics pay homage to her Anishinaabe roots

Some of Germaine Catchpole’s favourite childhood memories involve her family and the outdoors. Growing up in Lac Seul First Nation, about 60 kilometres northeast of Dryden, Ont., she loved berry picking with her kukum and aunties, going on boat and bike rides, and taking long walks together.

There was also one particular outdoor activity Catchpole loved the most: picnics with friends and family on the shores of Vaughan Lake.
