Toronto cherry blossoms are blooming early. Here’s where you can see them now

“It’s all because we had such a mild winter,” Steve Joniak, an avid observer of cherry blossoms, told the Star. “That sort of encourages the trees to actually progress faster.”

The cherry blossom trees at the University of Toronto were a gift from the Consulate General of Japan in Toronto and were planted in 2005.

Cherry blossoms can be found in locations across Toronto, from Etobicoke to Scarborough.

Outside of the Robarts Library at the U of T, cherry blossom trees are blooming. They were a gift from the Consulate General of Japan in Toronto and were planted in 2005.

Typically, the flowers bloom towards the end of April or early May, but they’ve been opening up earlier in recent years. At the University of Toronto’s Robarts Library on Monday, Sakura trees coloured the campus with lush pink florets

The first of the cherry blossoms have bloomed outside of the Robarts Library at University of Toronto near the corner of St. George and Harbord streets.
