In the 12 years since he started selling recycled Toronto-area phone numbers, Sean Iovacchini, founder of Toronto-based Number Shack, said there hasn’t been a day when the company hasn’t made a sale.
Most of the business comes from demand for 416 numbers — they make up about 85 per cent of numbers sold, according to Iovacchini — but Number Shack also offers 647 and 437 to those hoping to pass as Torontonians, particularly small businesses opening around the city.
