A Brampton woman found dead inside a North York shelter was barricaded in a room with her alleged killer for more than 38 hours while officers failed to investigate calls to police from concerned staff, Toronto police disciplinary records allege.
The day before Tracy Iannuccilli, 44, was found dead — allegedly killed by her romantic partner — police answered two calls from staff at one of Toronto’s largest homeless shelters about a man and woman barricaded inside a room. By the second visit, the police documents say, the staff’s initial request for help removing the pair had risen to include explicit concerns for the safety of Iannuccilli, whom they “had not heard from or seen in two days.”
