Toronto police are warning the public about a scam in which people are receiving calls from someone falsely claiming to be a police officer.
Police said that there have been several instances over the last few weeks where people have received telephone calls from what appears to be Toronto Police Service numbers. The caller would reportedly tell the person that their vehicle was involved in a collision and then ask them to make a payment over the phone.
