Hackers who targeted the Toronto Public Library in October 2023 may have stolen data from thousands of nonemployees whom the library had information about in its database.
After a yearlong investigation into the scope of the cyberattack, the library said in a statement Monday that about 4,100 cardholders, donors and unsuccessful job applicants who had “dealings with the library” between 2010 and 2023 had their information exposed by hackers.
