After years of being told not to do so, Torontonians can now recycle hot and cold beverage cups at home thanks to a new initiative launched by a Canadian non-profit organization.
The project, announced on Wednesday, marks the first step of a province-wide transition plan aimed at significantly reducing the amount of waste generated from paper-based and plastic-lined materials.
The city and one of the companies in charge of recycling said reusable bags aren’t accepted in blue boxes across the province.
