The westernmost section of Line 2, between Jane and Kipling stations, remains closed for the second day after a track-level fire near Islington station shut down operations on Thursday. A planned closure of a section of Line 1 for Saturday has also been cancelled due to the emergency repair work required on Line 2.
The fire, TTC said, “caused extensive damage to critical electrical systems necessary to operate trains safely.”
