The TTC’s front-line workers have voted to accept a tentative deal their union reached with management, averting a strike that would have shut down Toronto’s transit system.
The Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU) Local 113, representing about 12,000 bus and subway operators, collectors, maintenance staff and other workers, voted over 80 per cent in favour of the tentative deal reached on June 6 just hours before a midnight strike deadline.
