Two GTA police officers were hospitalized after fentanyl exposure in one week. How likely is an adverse reaction due to fentanyl exposure?

For the second time in less than a week, a GTA police officer was taken to hospital on Sunday after reportedly being exposed to fentanyl.

The Durham officer made “physical contact with” a substance believed to be fentanyl during an arrest on a trespassing call in Oshawa, Const. Nicholas Gluckstein said. They were taken to hospital for evaluation “as a precaution,” Gluckstein said, and released.
