Vaughan company fined $130,000 for worker’s death during Rutherford Road widening project in Thornhill

A Vaughan company has been fined for improperly handling a concrete wall that tipped and fatally injured one of its workers on Rutherford Road in 2023, Ontario’s labour ministry said.

Fourwinds Construction Inc., of Concord must pay $130,000, plus a 25 per cent victim surcharge, after pleading guilty to violating the province’s Occupational Health and Safety Act.
