Veteran Durham region police officer charged for allegedly failing to assist person in medical distress

A veteran Durham region police officer has been criminally charged for allegedly failing to help someone who was in medical distress earlier this year. 

The Durham Regional Police Service said in a news release Monday that they’d charged Const. James Wright — an officer with 23 years on the force — with failing to provide the necessaries of life.
