Toronto Harbour was cloaked in fog on the night of April 30, when the Thomas Rennie ferry left the Jack Layton terminal, destined for Hanlan’s Point with six passengers and 11 crew.
Additional lookouts had been posted on the vessel, due to reduced visibility. It was 10:21 p.m.
