The country will celebrate its 157th Canada Day celebration this year as the long weekend is just around the corner — which means a number of businesses and services will be closed as Canadians across the country mark the statutory holiday.
Here’s what’s open and closed on Canada Day

Government services
Municipal, provincial and federal government offices and services will be closed on Monday (this includes passport offices and Service Ontario centres).

Most big-box grocery stores and major grocers will be closed on Monday.
Some retailers will remain open including selected T & T Supermarkets.

UPS locations will be closed across the country, with no mail collection or delivery.
Banks
Most banks will be closed on Canada Day.
LCBO and the Beer Store
LCBO locations will be closed on Canada Day but the retailer says it is extending hours at all Ontario locations from June 27 through July 4 due to a potential strike involving its unionized members that could happen as early as midnight on July 5.
The LCBO says all locations will open early at 9:30 a.m. between these days and most locations will close at 10 p.m., however this may vary depending on the store.
Just over a quarter of all Beer Store locations will be open on Canada Day, with some operating under adjusted hours or only available for drive-thru purchases. The Beer Store published a list of all 119 open locations on their website.

Malls that will be closed on Canada Day include:
- Yorkdale Shopping Centre

- Fairview Mall
- Dufferin Mall
- The Shops at Don Mills
