Woman, 80, with ‘major’ life-altering injuries after being struck by driver of cargo van in Cedarvale, police say

An 80-year-old woman is in the hospital with life-altering injuries after she was struck by the driver of a cargo van while crossing the road near Cedarvale Park on Friday morning.

At 7:20 a.m., Toronto police received a call regarding a collision at the Bathurst Street and Strathearn Road intersection. According to police reports, a white cargo van travelling eastbound on Strathearn Road was making a right turn to southbound Bathurst Street. At that time, the victim was crossing the road, south to north, on the left side of Bathurst Street, when the cargo van driver hit her, police said.
