York University faculty approve new collective agreement, averting job action

Members of the union representing over 1,700 York University faculty, librarians and archivists have ratified their new collective agreement, officially averting any potential of a strike or lockout as fall classes are set to start next week.

The York University Faculty Association (YUFA) reached a tentative agreement with university administrators just before midnight on Aug. 18 after months-long negotiations.
